Trade Call Reception · Practical call handling

Test calls to make before going live

A polite routine enquiry alone does not demonstrate that the pilot handles awkward situations.

Work through the call, not just the technology.

Use the situation above as a rehearsal with invented details. Ask the person who will return the call whether the information would let them take the next useful step. If an answer depends on availability, technical judgement or a promise to the customer, leave that decision with your team.

Your practical checklist

  1. Test an ordinary suitable job.
  2. Try an out-of-area request and unclear contact number.
  3. Ask for an unknown answer and a person.
  4. Test routing and message-delivery failure.

The useful output

A rehearsal log with expected behaviour, observed behaviour and unresolved issues for each scenario.

What to check before activation

The initial managed pilot covers one business, one agreed call-handling route and one destination for enquiry summaries. Phone compatibility, message delivery, fallback and live data handling must be agreed and tested. Prices, attendance and appointments stay with your team; booking, transfers and bespoke integrations need a separate scope.

Review the result after 30 live days. A captured message is not evidence of a won job. Record confirmed outcomes separately and decide whether to continue under a separate agreement.
