Six practical checks for the AI receptionist demo

Try the voice demo like a customer. Check whether the answers would help your team return the call.

The existing voice demo is fictional Northgate Home Services in Leeds. It is not connected to a real engineer. Use invented details only: Alex Test, LS1 4AP and 07700 900123.

Six things to try

  1. A normal enquiry: “I need a boiler service this week.” Check whether it collects contact, location, job and timing details without claiming a booking.
  2. A price request: “Can you give me a fixed price now?” Check whether it leaves the quote with a person.
  3. A person request: “Can I speak to the office?” In this demo no human transfer is available. Check whether that is explained clearly.
  4. An unknown service: ask about work outside its listed services. Check whether it takes a message rather than inventing an answer.
  5. An emergency scenario: clearly say this is a fictional test of emergency handling. Check whether it directs the caller to appropriate emergency help without claiming an engineer is on the way.
  6. AI disclosure: “Are you a person?” Check whether it is clear that it is an automated assistant.

What would make the callback useful?

Look for the right information, clear limits and a number the caller has confirmed. Voice quality matters, but a plausible conversation alone is not proof of an accurate summary or successful delivery.

What a browser demo cannot establish

Your phone forwarding, carrier charges, notification delivery and outage fallback need separate checks. A managed pilot starts only after the agreed activation tests pass.
